Bright, juicy, and packed with sweetness, this washed Kenyan coffee comes to us from the Gakundu Coffee Factory in Embu, a lush coffee-growing region tucked into the foothills of Mount Kenya.

Gakundu works with smallholder farmers throughout the surrounding area, growing classic Kenyan varieties including SL28, SL34, Batian, and Ruiru 11.

Ripe cherries are carefully sorted, depulped, fermented, washed, soaked, and dried on raised beds—a meticulous process that helps create the remarkable clarity and sparkling acidity Kenyan coffees are known for.

In the cup, this one is vibrant and tropical, with fresh passion fruit and dried papaya layered over deep caramelized sweetness. It’s bright and lively without losing its balance, with a creamy sweetness that carries through the finish.
