About Us

Cherry River Coffee Roasters has always been about passion, adventure, and place. The name comes from the Cherry River in Richwood, West Virginia, where the company first took root. What began with stovetop popcorn makers, a rusty old van, and a dream slowly grew into a full-fledged roastery. With the dedication of its founders—and the support of friends and community—Cherry River moved from whirly pop experiments to roasting on a Mill City roaster, earning its reputation for quality and care along the way.

Today, that legacy continues in a new chapter. We’re proud to carry forward the spirit of Cherry River from its beginnings in Richwood to our home in the heart of the New River Gorge National Park. Here, surrounded by wild rivers, sandstone cliffs, and a thriving outdoor community, we’re inspired daily to roast coffees that bring people together—whether it’s a first cup at sunrise or a mug shared after a long day on the trails.

Every bag of Cherry River Coffee reflects where we’ve been and where we are now: rooted in West Virginia’s mountain heritage, carried forward by a passion for adventure, and crafted with the same joy and care that started it all.
